Our Team of Professionals
Dr. Mungia was born and raised in Raymondville and attended Raymondville schools. He graduated from the University of Texas Dental School in San Antonio in 1982. He takes pride in caring for his patients. Dr. Mungia and his wife Betty have two wonderful children Matthew and Natalie.
Dr. Kapoor moved to New York when she was 12 years old. Her father worked for the U.S. Aid and was stationed in Afghanistan, which is where she was born. She decided to be a dentist when she was 10 years old because she really liked her dentist. When she was 15 years old she decided to become a periodontist because her mom had periodontal disease and refused to see a periodontist. This urge to help her mom has bloomed into a career that she is passionate about. She treats every patient with the same care that she gave to her mom.
Dr. Kapoor now lives on a ranch near Austin, Texas. Her other passion is cooking. She has started a cooking blog (cookingwithloveandspices.com) and teaches cooking classes. She is using her cooking venture to support the local producers and food bank.
Dr. Kapoor has 27 years of experience in periodontal care. She takes care of our patients both in Austin and here in the valley. She has been serving our patients at Harlingen Family Dentistry since 2011. She also sees our Raymondville Family Dentistry patients in the Harlingen office.
After graduating from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in 1986, Dr. Kapoor completed a one-year hospital residency at the Ann Arbor V. A., and then a three-year periodontal internship at Ohio State University.
Since her post-doctoral graduation in 1990, Dr. Kapoor continues to take advanced courses to keep up with the latest technology and procedures in the field of periodontics.
Wendy Perez graduated from dental hygiene school in 2004 and has been working with Dr. Mungia since 2005. She says “I love my job and one of my favorite things is brightening my patients’ smiles. I really enjoy talking to and getting to know them.” She enjoys spending time with her husband and four children.
Veronica has been in the dental field for 16 years. She says, “I have always enjoyed helping and caring for patients. It is satisfying whether it is calming a nervous patient or educating them about their dental needs.” In my spare time, I enjoy family, cooking and baking.
